Cat Mother investigates Google +

Well I never!

Cat Mother has decided to use this profile (like, ours!) to test Google +. She got bitten a bit with Buzz which she really liked using but over time more and more of "her friends and family" profile got exposed and she became unsure in the end what information was being shared and what wasn't and in terms of her ego, she's really quite private. She deleted everything and from there saw the benefit of alter profiles which she is happy to share enabling her to keep herself very much to herself.

It would seem, on the other hand that we are to be fodder for all and sundry as she tries out this new social media network.

I'm not saying nothin' yet. Molly and I are waiting patiently to see where this takes us. No need to bother Bongo as yet. Not sure he'd understand it anyway and we don't want to confuse him anymore than he is already bless 'im.

However if we start getting bogus and spurious approaches we might have to review this so be warned.

In the meantime we like to be open and embracing of change and improvements and the well respected social media homosapien who forwarded this invite is enough in itself for Cat Mother to give it a try. Ultimately we're with Cat Mother so let's get plus-ing!

20110713 Bongo goes missing for the 3rd time

This is a quick post to get me to the next one.

In a word, Bongo went missing on June 9th and was found by a neighbour after cat mother got her finger out and put posters up locally.

Parallel to the high street is a back alley where all the shops and restaurants open their back doors in the summer and when he was lost and found the first time in December 2009 he was being fed by the bakers and the knitting shop and it took them a month to reign him in and shop him to the rspca who took him to a vet, got his chip and pin read, and then phoned cat mother to get him rescued. It was long and heart breaking and I'm pleased to report that since then Cat Mother has grown a lot, well, not so much in girth (she's lost 3 stone in 2 years and run a marathon etc.) but this third time she kept it quiet...really focused on the 2 of us, Bingo and Molly, you know? The cats she had in the present...really proud of her we were...and felt extra loved and that. It's important being a cat and having to share cuddle time between 3 when the time Cat Mother is about is limited.

She'd remark on how less time consuming it was with just us...we're not demanding, Molly and Me and we're a bit more understanding of Cat Mother's time. Not finding fault with Bongo or anything. Fact is, food bills go up when he's around, more noise pollution, thudding (Molly and me together weigh about the same as Bongo) and it really is like the Cat of the House is back.

Love 'im though and we wouldn't be without him.

Cats Protection has advised we're to keep him in for a week and Cat Mother is mulling this as he does seem to like being caged, looked after, protected. Course she let's him out morning and evenings and always when she is at home but always with a harness and if outside on a long leash.

It may be prudent to keep the cage up for a while even when he is permitted more freedom as he seems to regard it as his home, his place and Molly and I don't interfere with that so when things go mad outside which is what we think happened this time (builders bashing outside door) he has his place to go and won't cross the bus route and then get disoriented. Molly and I tend to be a bit more streetwise and Bongo definitley requires that little bit more extra care. Bless...

So. This Grey and White number ...

Honestly...u can't make this stuff up! There she goes telling all and sundry! Hello! We r cats!

Not that there's anything wrong with being anything other than, u understand...

It has been lovely in a way...u win some, u lose some and with the summer reason upon is and us living by the sea and all I guess it makes sense, all these visitors.

1st we have cat mother's birth sister come and stay. WR don't know for how long and then it's just 10 days. 10 days of car mother sleeping on the sofa. Our favourite resting place. Bliss! Wish it cud have been longer...we're in our 3rd week so get do it's all good...

She goes and then cat mother's Hong Kong Buddhist visits with junior which extends the stay on the sofa..how wonderful!

And now, cud there's no time til the week-end to sort the bed out, she's still on the sofa.

On the night b4 last, cat mother was exceptionally tired. I understand. She made her bed and now she's lying in it.

She hears a wandering cat meowing and darn it! If she doesn't think it's me wanting something or about to spray!

She wakes up and counts the cat lumps on her tummy, 1, 2, 3...and then an error code starts going off in that "brain" of hers.

*squeaking, wheels a turning* there must b anuva cat! And as the darkness gets lighter her eyes make out a Bongo size car, more fluff and day then B, white with grey patches and date I day it quite a striking grey and white number.

Would u believe that car mother turns to US in disbelief and starts going on about how we r not protecting our home and rah rah rah! Honestly! Our job is to provide comfort, be beautiful, be clean, purr, eat, sleep, go out...have I missed anything? She forgets sometimes...There r 4 of us live here...well, 5 in place right now! It's easily fone, mind. This forgetting of roles and responsibilities...

Cat mother gets up and turns the dim lights on and by the time she's thought about her next move GreyAndWhite has long gone out the car flap.

She sprays "her" scent on both sides of the cat flap (it never works with me) in an attempt at deterring GreyAndWhite...while said cat looks on thinking he has found friends ..

2011 Week 16 Bongo's 4th set of stitches

2011-04-19 Tuesday

Cornish accent on account of Doc Martin set in Devon!

Well..it's been 16 months now and his hole is the size of a 5 pence piece. Days are getting hotter and it's under the right forearm where he now has no fur and sweats like a pig, ifn u don't mind me sayin' so, like.

Cat Mother (she butts in sometimes and seems to b swanning around referring to 'erself as CatMuvaRuna or sum-at 'owever we'll stick to what we know and as I was sayin' ...

She saw some old medicine and put it against the "wound" and it wasn't good. Sure it was in the fridge but u know? U can't mess with these things, like, u know?

Anyways, she bathes it in salt water and it comes right again but there's been no change since his last visit b4 Christmas to the vets in her opinion so she books him in for a review on Saturday and sure enuf the arrangement is to him bring back today (Tuesday) 4 stitches (sutures, I believe is the fancy name...)

Now we all get on well and we all want "cuddle chops" to get well. Cat Mother tells us all over and over again, we r all her favourites for one reason or another. Fact is, it's all very well this equality and diversity bit until some cat wonders off for 6 months, comes back like the walking wounded, ok so he has 4 operations (latest today) and is almost applauded for his efforts every time he so much as utters " Miaow" in a whisper, even I can't hear...

Off she went this morning, with heavy heart. Was she doing the right thing? Putting him in again? 4th time? But then it's summer, and germs flying around and that...u just can't have it can u? A cat with an open wound...16 months..it had to b done...

Crying she was when she came in and got stuck straight into work...course nothing goes smoothly when u want it to and she was soon lost in whatever the work thing is. Cat nana is in Portugal and having a whale of a time. Lovely place apparently and at present, not unlike Spain...some exploring to b done, lush vegetation and easy access to swimming pool complete with cleaner, no less. We're hoping she has a great time.

A call come through from the operating vet in Hangleton...Bongo's fine, he's had his lunch and lots of cuddles and is purring like crazy...and typically Cat Mother bursts into tears and this time with joy wud u believe! Ain't no pleasing some people!

Then as work finishes and the cage goes up Cat Mother decides to re-arrange the living room for summer (minimalist and spacious (she has her own definitions if u get me?)). She cleans the cage with love and fairy and nips off to the supermarket to get the cat litter in b4 jetting on a bus to rescue her beloved singin' and cryin', "you bring the sun out, to light my life up, to bring the stars out, every day...

She picked him up, escorted him back, put his plastic lampshade collar cape on (to stop him from scratching the stitches), fed and watered him, filled his cat litter tray, admired the vets handy work and then went into the garden to burn...

All in all it's been a lovely day...

Heard cat mother thinking about negotiating work at home days in next contract...oh if only...

Night all
